Pediatrician Geoff Wood, DO likes the energy and resilience of kids.
“When you see a happy, well-developed kid, the joy and silliness they radiate is just fun,” says Dr. Wood, who joins NH+C’s pediatrics team, caring for children of all ages – and their parents.
“I love working with new parents and helping guide them through the growth and development of their child,” Dr. Wood says. “A big part of pediatrics is reassuring parents what’s normal for their child’s age and stage.”
Dr. Wood grew up taking care of kids: As the second-oldest of seven, he was very involved in caring for his younger siblings. “As a teenager, I did the bedtime routine for my preschool siblings,” he says. “Taking care of children has always brought me joy.”
Through his own experience as a father, “I've come to understand that parenthood presents its unique set of challenges, but it also brings unparalleled happiness and fulfillment. I aim to use my roles as a parent and pediatrician to make challenges easier for children and their families.”
Dr. Wood earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC, and completed his pediatric residency and an internship at the University of Florida - Pensacola. He is board-eligible.
