Our Birth Center serves a wide region: In 2023, most of our Birth Center patients were from rural counties in a 50-mile radius from Northfield Hospital. Some patients traveled 70 miles or more to our Birth Center.
"Past generations simply expected to have their babies in their own town," says NH+C CEO Steve Underdahl. "Now, moms and dads are actively shopping for where to have their baby. They’re willing to travel longer distances for the birth experience they want to have."
