blueberries Medical Nutrition Therapy

Medical Nutrition Therapy is an individual plan of healthy eating based on an individual’s nutritional needs and medical history.

The Medical Nutrition Therapists at Northfield Hospital are Registered and Licensed Dietitians. Registered Dietitians are your most credible and reliable source of accurate nutrition information.

Registered Dietitians also work with healthy people, teaching them about staying healthy by selecting the right foods. Balance, variety, and moderation are the keys to healthful eating. A registered dietitian can help you find a total eating plan that works for you and your lifestyle.

We counsel people on many different topics, including:

  • Weight Control
  • Bariatric Surgery
  • Eating Disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Renal Disease
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Celiac Disease
  • Cirrhosis
  • Crohn’s Disease
  • Food Allergies
  • Nutrition Support
  • Disease Prevention

Many insurance plans will cover your visit to see a registered dietitian. If your insurance company does not, be sure to request this benefit. Medicare allows a certain number of visits for people with diabetes or end-stage renal disease. Check with your provider to determine if you are eligible to see a registered dietitian under Medicare.
