Ken Bank
President and CEO
Ken has overall responsibility for the operation of the hospital. He graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in chemistry. He went on to earn a master's degree in organic chemistry from the University of Colorado, and a master’s in business administration from the University of Arizona. He also took clinical laboratory training at the Tucson Medical Center. He worked for several hospitals in the Tucson area and served as CEO of Tucson General Hospital before moving to Northfield in 1988. He is a past board member of the Northfield Gymnastics Association and Northfield Community Action Center. He spent three years in the Air Force, serving as an air traffic controller in Vietnam and Thailand.
Mary Crow Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer
Mary is responsible for all aspects of hospital operations that relate directly to patient care. She graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a theology minor. She’s had bedside experience in oncology, orthopedics, med-surg and obstetrics. Mary also worked in a school setting and was on the faculty of a three-year RN program in St. Paul. She began her career at Northfield Hospital in 1980 when she began working nights on our obstetrics ward. She managed the OB department for 10 years and then accepted the Director of Patient Care position in 1995. Mary has served on the board of the Great Plains Organization for Perinatal Care and was the organization’s president in 1993. She also served as a prepared childbirth instructor for the Northfield Childbirth Education Association.
Roger Stapek Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer
Roger oversees the financial operations of the hospital. His major areas of responsibility include all of the hospital accounting functions and the administrative direction of Dietary, Plant & Maintenance and Medical Records. He holds an accounting degree from the University of Minnesota. He worked in private industry for several years before joining Northfield Hospital in 1980. He is a member of the Northfield School District Finance Committee, sits on the boards of Laura Baker Association, EPIC Enterprises and Northfield Sertoma Club and is a past board member of the Defeat of Jesse James Days Committee.
David Oliver Clinic Operations Administrator
David is responsible for the development and operation of the hospital’s new medical practice network.
He comes to Northfield Hospital from Immanuel St. Joseph’s – Mayo Health System in Mankato where he worked as the administrator of a new multi-specialty medical practice. Prior to that he worked for Immanuel St. Joseph’s as a Quality Improvement Coordinator and later for Minnesota State University (MSU) – Mankato where he directed the Student Health Service.
He graduated from Concordia College – Moorhead with a degree in Business Administration – Program in Healthcare Administration. He worked in support services administration for 10 years at several Twin Cities hospitals before earning a graduate degree in Health and Human Services Administration from St. Mary’s University.
His past experience includes several health-related community fund raising activities, serving as president of the Mankato Area Council for Quality and as an adjunct member of the Industrial/Organizational Psychology graduate faculty at MSU – Mankato.
Kathleen Meier
Ancillary Services Administrator
Kathleen is responsible for the development of Laboratory Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Pharmacy, Emergency Medical Services, the Center for Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and Social Services.
She has worked in a number of clinical and administrative roles at Owatonna Hospital, most recently as Patient Care Services Director. Kathleen is known for her collaborative management style. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winona State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas.
Tammy Hayes
Nursing Division Administrator
Tammy is responsible for nursing services at Northfield Hospital, including the Medical/Surgical and Critical Care units, the First Touch Birth Center, and the Surgery Department, as well as Northfield Home Care and the Long Term Care Center. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of St. Scholastica and a Masters of Science in Health Services Administration from Cardinal Stritch University. Tammy has held a number of nursing leadership roles in neonatal and pediatric care and has provided leadership for a broad range of quality initiatives. Most recently, she worked as the clinical nurse manager of the neonatal intensive care unit at Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
